Jim has been a guiding force in the development of cross country skiing both in Ottawa as Chair of the NCD, Ontario as Chair of Cross Country Ontario, and now as President of Cross Country Canada. The NCD will be presenting the Jim McCarthy Trophy to the winner of the Junior Mens' category of NCD championships series.
John Langstone is perhaps the longest serving coach in the NCD (now retired), having coached athletes from Kanata Racers and Ottawa Racers from 1984. He has coached Canadian teams at international events, Team Ontario at Canada Winter Games and most recently as Head Coach of the Carleton University Nordic Ski Team. The NCD will be presenting the John Langstone Trophy to the winner of the Junior Boy's category of the NCD championships series.
The NCD invites all members of the cross country ski community to our awards banquet to celebrate the athletes, a great ski season, and the contributions to the sport that John and Jim have tirelessly given us over the last decades.
Details of the banquet can be found here.
Banquet tickets may be obtained, by Tuesday March 29, by emailing the Treasurer at
