Karhu has announced its sponsorship of XCOttawa.ca skiers David Zylberberg, Ian Murray and Arno Turk. The members of the team will be racing in numerous events across Canada over the coming season. David Zylbergberg recently emigrated to XCOttawa.ca from the National Team Development Centre in Thunder Bay. Ian Murray is the team's short distance specialist, who represented Canada at the last winter's World University Games in Poland. Arno Turk was also a member of the World University Games team, competing in 1999. He will represent the team in the longer distance events.
Two years after it's re-emergence on the racing scene, Karhu has unveiled its new racing line, headed by the Volcan skate and classic models. The Volcan Skate features a skate cut, whereby the mid-portion of the tip and tail have a slightly tapered width. The core of the ski is made of a Nomex Honeycomb core. One-piece cap construction is made up of a 0.4mm Duraclear Cap. The base now has a split material tip, something not offered previously on the Onyx. The Volcan Classic features many of the same changes, except the tapered skate cut.
