After too many months of rollerskiing and two cancelled on-snow camps, XC Ottawa team members are more keen than ever to race. A main racing focus for XC Ottawa is the Haywood NorAm/Canada
Cup circuit, a national series that attracts top competition. And the action starts soon.
Here's where we'll be racing during the next month and a half . . .
The Haywood NorAm Cup races were set to debut at Montmorency, Quebec on November 29-30. Unfortunately, similar to our "own snow" camp that never happened, these races have been cancelled due to lack of snow!

Karl, Megan, Sheila, and Adele scheduled the start of their ski season after the Quebec races to head out West to Silverstar on November 29th. They will train in Silverstar for a week and race the NorAm Cup events in Sovereign Lakes on December 6-7.

After that they will head to Whistler, for three races at site of the 2010 Olympic Venue (Whistler Olympic Park) on December 12, 13, and 14. Colin will also be racing in Whistler with the Yukon Team.

The final NorAm Cup of 2008 is in Duntroon, where Adele, Alana, and Matthias will be racing.
DUNTROON: Senior Men's Pack at NorAm Cup 2008
Most XC Ottawa athletes will be bring in the New Year in Canmore, where we'll be racing what is likely to be one of the most competitive events of the year, with 4 races in 6 days (January 2-6). These races will help select athletes for the World Junior team and the January World Cup races at Whistler Olympic Park.
