The Canadian Ski Marathon Safety team has a need for a few more volunteer safety skiers. The basic requirements are:
- can commit totally from Friday evening 6pm, Feb 12th to late Sunday evening, Feb 14th 2010
- certified in first aid (St. John Standard with CPR or equivalent)
- Intermediate cross-country skiing ability (able to easily ski a 15 km section of trail while carrying a day-pack)
- have suitable ski gear and clothing (a first aid kit can be provided)
- personable and willing to help a wide variety of skiers
- a ham radio license is a bonus
All transportation from Ottawa, food, and accommodation in a double occupancy motel room are provided for a mere $40. The 2300 or so participants and volunteers would be extremely grateful for your help!
