Hey all lovers of x-country skiing,
With Orford Loppet being postponed, there is one less conflict and a great opportunity for those skiers to come try the Canadian Ski Marathon. We have lots of snow and 160km's of trail opening up for just two short days this coming weekend. All the trees are cleared and the entire trail has been groomed at least once. Expect to see beautiful pristine vistas and solid double track grooming cuddled next to the Canadian Shield and some screaming downhills.
The route this year is Lachute-Montebello-Gatineau so that means the infamous section 3 "bobsled run" is in play. Don McLeod - founder of the CSM will be on hand. Our new sponsors Allegiant Air are on board and Fast & Female representative and Olympian Madeleine Williams will be at the Montebello greeting visitors from all over Canada. Also again this year, we have our friends from TCAO ( various local Outaouais Farmers ) at Sainte Sixte (between section 8 & 9) serving up chocolate milk, chili and other treats. Hopefully, the local musicians will also be there to serenade us:)
With more snow on the way and a brand new highway to quickly help shuttle you to Montebello, come join over 1500 like minded skiers and tackle the longest most enjoyable xc ski marathon in the world.
