It was a gorgeous day this last Saturday for Thea’s race. The sun was shining and the kids had already built a jump at Nakkertok North by the time we got there. The race format was a sprint relay, which made for an exciting day for spectators.

The underlying theme of Thea’s racing is
encouraging women to be active making it a very fun and casual race for a great
cause. On the girls side Ingrid and Kendra made a powerhouse team to take the
win. Liza and Sheila followed closely the whole race as the leading position
switched many times, and finished in second. Katie and Bronwyn rounded out the
podium for the girls race. Also friends of XC Ottawa Holly and Lindsey finished
4th.

On the mens side the Marchand bros pulled off the upset with some powerhouse double poling in their matching red suits. Coming in second were the tall and strong pair of Lee and Peter. Matthias and his roommate Travis had a strong race and came in 3rd. Also Anna took my spot in the race because I was sick and came in a strong 5th place finish with my roommate Mike Abbott.

Also a shoutout to my friends on Chelsea Masters who were moving out there, nice work Lisa, Martha and Kamiko and Linda.
