We're back from the annual pilgrimage to early season skiing in the Foret Montmorency, the wondrous place we have dubbed "Silver Star East". Our pre-race season training camp lasted for Nov. 10-14th and was our first solid chunk of skiing for the year.

This is the first article in a two part series: XCOttawa - "Where have we been?" and "Where do we want to go?".

October has come, and with it the changing colours of fall in the Gatineau Park. Local tourism is booming as people come to the Park to enjoy the colours of fall, using the many scenic driving routes and chairlift rides to accomplish their yearly commune with nature. Some, however, prefer to enjoy nature more directly, and for this dedicated and slightly imbalanced crowd there are plenty of diversions, foremost among them the annual Fall Rhapsody Mountain Run.

HNP offers photography solutions for corporate clients, magazines, weddings or people looking for dynamic portraits. XC Ottawa will be working with HNP to produce images and photos for his collection and ours.

Twenty-six hardy skiers came out and competed in the first annual NADC charity Time Trial raising more than $260 for the Training Centre. Conditions were cold, with 5cm of fresh powder snow over a hard packed base.

XC Ottawa had very strong showing at this year’s Easterns on our home turf at Nakkertok.

Carleton University held there second time trail of the season. The team is gearing up for this winter's university racing action.

Overall, XC Ottawa’s 2007-2008 racing season was one of the best and most consistent, with good performances from the early races in November through to Nationals in March.
