XC Ottawa is proud to announce its newest partner in, Harry Nowell Photography (HNP) - www.HarryNowell.com. HNP offers photography solutions for corporate clients, magazines, weddings or people looking for dynamic portraits. XC Ottawa will be working with HNP to produce images and photos for his collection and ours.

Harry Nowell has been shooting sporting events and athletes since the early 1990's. His work has included coverage of the World Cup Biathlon Championships in Canmore and the Masters World Championships in Canmore in 1995. He has two agents selling stock work (images in his collection) in Toronto and Europe. He also teaches photography workshops through his own workshop series as well as other through other venues. In the summer of 2003, Harry Nowell will be presenting at the Canadian Camera Conference, in Ottawa.

Harry has been cross-country skiing for most of his life, and raced as a junior skier with Nakkertok Ski Club of Cantley, Quebec. His love for nordic skiing has extended to telemark skiing as well. In the summer, Harry turns to whitewater paddling as his favourite pastime, and can often be seen on the banks of the Ottawa accompanied by a canoe and a camera. His photography is influenced by his love of motion and of being outside, and his most inspired work comes from photographing active, outdoor sports from new perspectives. It takes both talent and experience to capture energy and movement with the still frame of a picture, and Harry Nowell has both of these qualities.

Check out some of Harry's work at www.HarryNowell.com, or e-mail him at Harry@HarryNowell.com. XC Ottawa is hoping to help Harry Nowell demonstrate our combined love of cross-country skiing through images which evoke that emotion. Check back on our website in late January for pictures!
