A skier has only two gears; power and turnover. When you want to go faster it's as simple as that. You can either put more muscular effort into every push (power) or you can increase your tempo by pushing more often (turnover).
Since the national 50km race (the conclusion of the ski season), it has been an interesting 3 weeks or so and there have been a number of things that have happened to me that have been (1) stressful, (2) eye opening, and (3) funny . . .
