XC Ottawa is just back from it's most successful early season snow camp ever. Why was it so much more successful? Because nothing more than a sweat was broken - not a ski, not a pole, not even a tailbone!
October has come, and with it the changing colours of fall in the Gatineau Park. Local tourism is booming as people come to the Park to enjoy the colours of fall, using the many scenic driving routes and chairlift rides to accomplish their yearly commune with nature. Some, however, prefer to enjoy nature more directly, and for this dedicated and slightly imbalanced crowd there are plenty of diversions, foremost among them the annual Fall Rhapsody Mountain Run.
XC Ottawa is represented here by myself and our coach, John Langstone, both here with Team Ontario.

There are probably not many places where 70 people show up for a local rollerski time trial. Thanks to Chelsea Nordic and Nakkertok for putting this one together!
Today's race was 7.5 km classic and 7.5 km skating. The men's races started at 11:30 and 1:30 after a half hour delay due to cold.

Last Saturday XC Ottawa tackled the 51km classic at the 38th annual Gatineau Loppet
