On rare occassions, the very best possible ski conditions happen to coincide with my long workouts. This happens every few years and February 1, 2004 was one such day.
Generally the team did really well - Sheila was 3rd and Megan 7th in the women's 53km, Karl 4th and Brian 7th, Ed 10th, Wayne 11th, Tom 15th, Craig 23rd in the men's 53km. Gavin won the 28km and Andrew was 2nd in the 10km. Here's the blow-by-blow fro

This weekend a significant portion of the team traveled to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Craftsbury, Vermont for the season-opener Eastern Cup races.
XC Ottawa had a great year and we thought we should list the highlights...
This year began back in May, when me, Karl and Tom, in consultation with our coach Pavol Skvaridlo, decided to try some very aggressive training programs in an attempt to ski a lot faster. As a result of this we all worked a lot harder than ever before, knowing that improvements were likely but there was a chance of being tired during the race season.
At the end of our longest training day, coaching protege Ricky "Cool" Skvaridlo issued a challenge the team could not pass up - a game of mini-putt.
April 10th, 2010 from 1:30-4 PM at Camp Fortune with Perrianne Jones (2010 Olympian) and Lise Meloche (1992, 1994 Olympian). Limited to 75 young ladies ages 9-19 years old.
