Today was a very good day for the Ottawa girls. Perianne Jones finished in 1st place, Kate Brennan was 3rd and I surprised myself by making it to the A final and finishing in 6th (just inside the money!!)

Alana Thomas did XC Ottawa proud last week by finishing 2nd overall at the Ontario University Championships. She is one to watch for in the coming years!

This past weekend, a group from XC Ottawa, Carleton U, and the NADC travelled to Mt. Tremblant to participate in the Grand Prix des Couleurs.

October has come, and with it the changing colours of fall in the Gatineau Park. Local tourism is booming as people come to the Park to enjoy the colours of fall, using the many scenic driving routes and chairlift rides to accomplish their yearly commune with nature. Some, however, prefer to enjoy nature more directly, and for this dedicated and slightly imbalanced crowd there are plenty of diversions, foremost among them the annual Fall Rhapsody Mountain Run.

This past weekend, a group from XC Ottawa, Carleton U, and the NADC travelled to Mt. Tremblant to participate in the Grand Prix des Couleurs. This is a weeekend event, starting on Saturday with kids races and continuing on Sunday with a choice of a Mountain bike race, an uphill race straight up the downhill run or the extreme version which winds through the bush. In the middle of June, I went to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, on the Sibley Peninsula in order to attend a training camp put on by NTDC Thunder Bay and the Canadian National Ski Team.
