The final race of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) championships in Orangeville this year was a 10km mass start for the women and a 15km mass start for the men. Carleton continued its successful run of results and everyone appreciated one last race
The challenging conditions made for a tough day for XC Ottawa but we came away with some good results in the end . . .
XC Ottawa team members competed in a variety of races and came home with a gold medal in the 29km Skate by Craig Storey, a bronze in the 29km classic courtesy of Justin Demers and Sheila and Megan making it into the money (top 5) for the 53km skate!

Overall, XC Ottawa’s 2007-2008 racing season was one of the best and most consistent, with good performances from the early races in November through to Nationals in March.
Today was Day 1 of the biggest Nationals I can remember… over 700 skiers at this race, many of them the top-level guys from the USA, to check out the Olympic venue for the first time.
