Sunday was my first attempt at the Keskinada...
This was a year of firsts. The first warm Keski I have been to, the first time that I have skied the 53km, and the first time I have played golf in Sudbury in January about 1 month before the Keski.
We have, so far reported, 8 skiers who were successful skiing the Triple..
Past years have been so cold that the start has been delayed and/or the course shortened/altered to minimize risk of frostbite! What a pleasant change to be skiing in relatively balmy temperatures!
My race was basically what I refer to as a "character building" experience.
Placing? Who you beat? Who you were close to? Compare to how you did in previous years? How it felt?
The CSM provides a great venue for all young skiers, whether they are involved with racing programs, non-racing programs, or no formal programs at all, to come together for fun, socializing, and a healthy challenge.
CSM and the Gatineau Loppets are over and we have (at least) the following skiers who have accomplished the Canadian Triple Ski Challenge..
I love the Keski. It’s a wonderfully organized event and a fantastic way to test yourself from year to year...
