August 2 to 9 were the dates of the NADC Ottawa-Gatineau training camp at the Madawaska Kanu Centre (MKC) near Barry's Bay in Ontario. Three XC Ottawa members successfully kept their heads above water for the entire week! ( well, with the exception of when trying to learn how to roll kayaks) These were Megan McTavish, Tom McCarthy, and Karl Saidla.
The majority of XCOttawa.ca participated in the Fall Rhapsody Mountain Running Race at Camp Fortune in Gatineau Park. This was a 10km race on a challenging course.

I find the fall to be the ultimate balancing act as a skier; figuring out how to follow your training plan, start school, and see all your friends again without getting sick or burned out is always really hard.
A great day for XC Ottawa with Sheila winning the women's 53km, Megan and Karl both grabbed 2nd and alumni Eva Szabo came 3rd.
