Silver Medal for XC Ottawa Men in the National Championship Relay!

XC Ottawa achieved one of its major goals for the season by winning a Silver Medal in the hotly contested National Championhip 3 by 5km skate relay. The team was made up of Karl Saidla, David Zylberberg and Craig Storey. After strong opening legs by Karl and Dave, the race was decided in an exciting duel between Craig and former National and Olympic team member Robin McKeever of Foothills Nordic. McKeever spent much of the race catching Craig, but was eventually held off at the finish, ending up about 1second behind. First place went to the other Foothills team of Kazuma Takahashi, Ivan Babikov, and Brian McKeever.
