Wax recommendations - Sunday
Weather... (Env. Chelsea)
Sunday...Possibility of light snow overnight. Morning Low of -13C and warming to -1C.So expect race start temperature of -9 or -10 with a warming trend as the race progresses and the "Big storm" rolls in.
There's a lot of flip-flopping on if/when and the type of precipitation. That makes it a bit hard to suggest wax, structure and ski types right now. We did some testing this morning knowing full well that it was in vain. The snow was cold and slow at 9am this morning, but warmed up nicely with the Sun and even felt faster... but not quite fast.
Glide Wax
Simple Fast - 1 layers Vauhti Graphite, 1 layer Vauhti Blue.
Faster - 1 layer Vauhti Regular blue, 1 layer Vauthi Speed Green, 1 layer Vauhti Spektra Blue.
Blistering Fast - 1 layer Vauhti Regular blue, 1 layer Vauthi Speed Green, 1 layer Vauhti Spektra Blue, GoldFox powder.
Now since the weather is a bit unpredictable, if you have 2 pairs of skis, wax both! Wax the softer pair a bit warmer than the stiff pair for fresh fallen snow and its -5C in the morning. Substitute Spektra Blue for Spektra Violet and ZeroFox for GoldFox.
