2008/02/14 - Sorted List of Bib by Race Distance
The Gatineau Loppet confirmation list doesn't tell you who you are competing against or participating with. It's hard to find out who else is in your wave or doing the same race you are, so we create a Gatineau Loppet Bib Lists for that purpose. Enjoy!
2008/02/10 - With the incredible snow conditions this winter, this year's Gatineau Loppet is sure to be a great event. If you haven't yet registered, you're not too late. If you're not prepared to go the long distance, there are plenty of shorter events to choose from.
Although the snow conditions will be great this week, don't overdo the skiing. But all that nice snow can be hard to resist, so just keep most of your outings easy and work on balance and technique . . . you want your body to be fully rested so you will be fresh and energetic on the start line! A workout with a little speedwork along the race course is a good idea to keep you sharp, if you have been doing this sort of thing during the race season. If you haven't been doing speedwork, it's not time to start!
Be sure to check out XC Ottawa's Gatineau Loppet Archives . . .
The XC Ottawa team has been compiling this resource over the years, which includes helpful race strategies, nutrition tips, and training advice. Also in the archives, you'll find a retrospective of race previews, personal race stories, and results from earlier years. We will keep updating the archives and invite race reports from our readers. So after your race, let us know how it went!
Everyone wants their skis to be fast on race day! We will be testing wax combinations on the Gatineau Loppet course Friday and Satuday, and will let you know what we think the best wax will be for the classic and skate races. Check back Friday and Saturday for our wax testing results and recommendations.
