Kanata XC Ski Club Pretzel Sprints

Come out and see how much fun a cross-country sprint race can be! The Kanata XC Ski Club is hosting its first race ever. All skiers are welcome and no previous race experience is required. There will be two sprint courses, a 250 metre loop for the younger skiers and a 500 metre course for the older
ones. Both events are freestyle (classic or skating). All Jackrabbits
are welcome, as well as those who are already racing. Sprint race participants
are guaranteed at least two races. A special fun park will be set up
for the Bunnyrabbits. All ‘Kanata Pretzel Sprints 2008’ participants
will be awarded a delicious pretzel prize!
Date: Sunday February 24th, 2008
Start time: Race kit pickup 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.; races start 9.00 a.m. (detailed schedule to be posted on the club website after the close of registration)
Place: Riverfront Park at the Bonnenfant Y Outdoor Centre, 1620 Sixth Line, Dunrobin, ON (rural Kanata), a 15 minute drive north of the Queensway from the March Road exit #138; see the club website for directions
Courses: Atom (6 & 7) and Pee-Wee (8 & 9): 250m gently sloped terrain. Mini-midget (10 & 11), Midget (12 & 13) and Juvenile (14 & 15): same 250m plus an additional 250m of hilled terrain. Fun park for Bunnyrabbits (5 & younger). See the club website for course details.
Fee: $10.00 for Kanata XC Ski Club members, $ 15.00 for non-members, $5.00 for Bunnyrabbits.
Deadline: All entries must be received by midnight on Tues. Feb. 19 or when registration reaches 120 racers (Bunnyrabbits excluded)
