Perianne Jones - The Making of a Champion: Update From the Interstate
By: Perianne Jones (2006/12/04)
In this series of articles she shares some insight into her life for the Ottawa ski community on the Fresh Air Experience website, and reprinted here with permission.
I’m currently somewhere between Cascade and Butte, Montana. We finished up racing in Canmore yesterday, and we have a race in Sun Valley, Idaho on Wednesday.
As it turns out my last update was pretty accurate. I suffered through some pretty rough races in the past two weeks, and on Saturday that good race that I was hoping would surface did. It was a freestyle sprint at the Canmore Nordic Centre. I felt strong in the qualifier, and was able to carry that momentum throughout the rest of the day. That performance was good enough to get me a spot on the Tour de Ski World Cup Team, so now I just have to have a little more patience, and work on bringing my distance skiing up to a level that is close to my sprinting.
Keep an eye out for Supertour results in the next two weeks, our team is looking pretty good!
