Well I've returned from the Haig Glacier safe and sound. Our team had a good solid week of hard training on the glacier followed by two more weeks of heavy training, and we are now all returning from vacation!
The week as the glacier was essentially what I described before I left, (things don't really change very quickly on the Haig). The only major difference was I didn't have a single boiled egg, they were all scrambled!
At the end of our block of intense training we were all pretty bagged and headed off in different directions to relax, and rebuild some energy for the coming months. This meant I headed east to cottage country to do lots of swimming, canoeing, windsurfing, fresh fruit eating and sleeping. After a week at the cottage I'm feeling pretty refreshed and ready to put my nose to the grindstone for some more good quality training.
