Once again, fall is upon the Ottawa Valley, and the ski clubs in the area have pulled together to ensure that the Gatineau Park, one of Canada`s best cross-country ski training locations, remains open to rollerskiers. Thanks to the NCC for their continued support of this valuable training opportunity.

As of Saturday, September 9th, one section of the Gatineau Park will be closed to traffic – and thus available to rollerskiers – until 10 am on both Saturday and Sunday morning. The piece that will be closed includes the North Loop (Doldrums) section, and the section from P8 south to the intersection to Mackenzie King (also known as Mica).

Tuesday and Thursday evening closures of the North Loop continue as during the summer thanks to Chelsea Nordic and the Ottawa in-line skating club.

Rollerskiers who are taking advantage of these great opportunities should ensure that they are off the road by 10am on the weekends, and by dusk on weekdays.  Using this terrific facility is a privilege that the community works hard to maintain – please respect that.

Rollerskiers using this facility should ALSO remember to say thank-you to the following terrific volunteers and clubs who have given up their early-morning weekend hours to help us keep the Parkway as a training option:
