Race Report: Nakkertok Invitational

What a great day to be skiing! Nakkertok put on an exceptional event with their invitational, and the weather certainly cooperated. Saturday's snowfall made the new racing course trails really fun to ski on. Race announcing by Claudia Van Wijk, great music, superb organization, and numerous friendly volunteers created a festive race atmosphere.

With most of the team away at the Ontario University Qualifier in Haliburton and the Quebec Sprint Championships in St Jerome, Wayne and I were the only XC Ottawa team members racing. We both had good races, posting the fastest women's and men's times for the 10k and 15k events.

Getting good grip was pretty straightforward: Wayne skied with Vauhti Orange (Carrot) covered with Green; I used a similar combination but opted to cover the green with more Carrot since the temperature was warming up.
