This weekend, the Haywood NorAm Canadian Eastern Championships will be held at Nakkertok Nordic. Almost 700 athletes from clubs all over Canada are expected to compete in the 3-day event, which attracts some of Canada's best skiers, and is part of the Ontario Cup and Quebec Cup series and Ontario Universities Athletics Qualifier.
Here is the schedule of events:
Thursday 29 January
- 11:00–15:00 - Sprint and Prologue courses open for official training and inspection
Friday 30 January
- 9:00 - Free Technique sprint qualifying round: Open men and women
- 11:00 - Free Technique sprint heats: Senior and Junior, Men and Women
- 14:00 -Free Technique Prologue: Midget to Junior Boy/Girl categories. Sprint distance P/N
Saturday 31 January
- 09:00 - Middle-Distance Free Technique; Interval Starts
Sunday 1 February
- 09:00 Long-Distance Classic Technique, Mass Start
The organizing committee and volunteers from local clubs have been working tirelessly to put on this great event, but more volunteers are needed to make the event a success.
