The National Capital REGION working in collaboration with Camp Fortune, has opened (as of Nov. 25) an early season loop for nordic skiing. The loop is the first for our area! The creation and operation of this loop is ENTIRELY community led and has been done without any government support. The loop is approximately 700 metres long and can be accessed from near the main lodge at Camp Fortune. Hours of operation are 8 am to 9 pm. For this inaugural season, use of the loop is only available to members of CCC registered ski clubs.
In order to use this loop you must have purchased an early season loop pass. Passes are available by contacting cfskiloop@gmail.com.
- If you are a member of Chelsea, Kanata, Nakkertok, Skinouk, XC Ottawa, XC Zone the passes are $50
- If you are a member of any other CCC club the passes are $60.
Please be advised the ski loop was created in order to support the developmental needs of local area skiers, as such, there are reserved times where the loop is not available for general use. The detailed schedule can be found in the attached document however the following times have been reserved in advance and are subject to change:
- 7:30 - 10:00 am Tues/ Wed/Thurs
- 5 - 9 pm Tues/Thurs
- 6 - 8 pm Mon/Wed/Fri
- 8 am to 1 pm Sat/Sun
Finally there are rules - the first one is that you must have purchased a pass - this loop is entirely funded by the local ski community as such we hope that everyone recognizes that in order for it to be successful it must also be financially sustainable, that will not be achieved unless we all do our part.

This loop is operated by a committee of the six early committed clubs (Chelsea Nordic, Kanata Nordic, Nakkertok, Skinouk, XC Ottawa, XCZone), the NCD and Camp Fortune.
We are hoping that this pilot initiative will be one that can happen on an annual basis, with your support it can happen!!
