A new training season has started and XC Ottawa has already been hard at work in training over the past month. The team has already gotten together for several team practices and we're excited about the prospects of a new season.

The new year has brought about some changes to the ranks of XC Ottawa. First off, we'd like to say goodbye to Holly, Riel and Matt. Holly will be completing her final year at Carleton University and has already spent a month volunteering in Peru. Matt will be focussing on his business, Boast Technologies, while completing his degree, although he will still be joining us for summer practices. Finally, Riel is doing a year exchange in Germany and has already made the most out of orienteering races before he leaves. We thoroughly enjoyed having all three skiers on our team and wish them luck in their future endeavours.

On the recruit front, XC Ottawa is pleased to welcome Logan Hong, who will be coming to Ottawa in the fall. Logan will be starting her first year of Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering at Carleton University and comes to us from Georgian Bay Nordic. If she has anywhere near the work ethics of our last few GBN recruits (Peter, Kyla, and Matthias) we are extremely luck to have her! She's already put together some impressive results, including qualifying 11th in the junior girls sprint at the 2014 Nationals and an 8th place in the junior girls prologue at Easterns 2014. We're looking forward to having Logan join us in the fall.
