Glom your taps we’re heading to Newfoundland! Proper ting bye.
This year the National ski races will be held at the Blow Me Down trails in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland. The official countdown is available here: http://blowmedown.ca/. With over 650 members, this is Newfoundland’s largest ski club. The site has previously hosted the Canada Winter Games, and we’re looking forward to seeing what they have to offer. I have a feeling it’s not a bad bit nice (fyi Newfie phrases were found here: http://www.joebattsarm.ca/phrases.htm...I’ve been brushing up).

From one end of the country to the other - a group pic from last year’s nationals in Whistler, BC.

The races will kick off on Saturday March 15th, as usual with an exciting team sprint - this year in classic style. Sunday will be a short classic race (10km for the guys, 5km for the girls, interval start) followed by the mid-distance skate on Tuesday (15km and 10km for guys and girls, respectively, in an interval start). Thursday will be the skate sprints. The last blast is the long distance classic race on Saturday, March 22 - 50km for the guys and 30km for the girls, in a mass start. Remember folks, it’s the old dog for a hard road...or something like that... Stay tuned for more travel updates in the coming week!
