The Canadian Ski Marathon is a great motivator to keep fit and to get outside and enjoy the Canadian winter. As well cross country skiing aficionados, many runners, cyclists, and triathletes use the CSM as their winter season cross training event. Come learn how you can tailor your participation in the CSM to what you want to achieve: from scenic ski touring, to the newly introduced Half Marathon, and the ultimate challenge of the 160 km Coureur des Bois. You will learn how to select gear, clothing, and prepare to do the event at the level you choose.

Keynote: Rudy Hollywood

Workshop Leader: Real Perriard

Tuesday Nov 12th: 7 pm, 203 Richmond Road

Rudy Hollywood is a triathlon pioneer, Kona Ironman, community builder with the TriRudy.com web site, and inductee to the Nepean Sports Hall of Fame. He also instigated, by doing, the Rudy Award which is won by completing 5 major endurance events. But before all of that, Rudy became a Canadian Ski Marathoner and has seen the event evolve to become a great participation event for everyone.

Real Perriard aims to complete his 20th Gold Coureur des Bois in 2014. He has completed marathons, CSMs, Rideau Lakes Cycle Tours, and Ironman and adventure races. Ultra-running is his current passion. He loves sharing information about the outdoors and training, and credits the CSM for motivating him towards a healthy lifestyle and spirit of adventure.

The CSM’s beautiful, once-a-year, point-to-point trail in the Laurentian Hills of Quebec, was first skied in 1967 and every year since by many thousands, including legends of Canadian skiing like Herman “Jackrabbit” Smith-Johannsen and Pierre Harvey. Come ski the CSM and Become part of the Legend.
