The Event:
There are several distances to choose from, open to all ages and all are 'freestyle' (i.e. open to either skate or classic techniques, but generally most folks skate). Race format will be mass start, one start per distance, with 5-10 minutes between starts. Schedule will be posted on-site race-day. There will be Male and Female categories/results for each distance. All distances are approximate and will be marked with coloured arrows:
· 10km (white trail)
· 6km (orange)
· 3km (green) - generally suitable for 10-12 year olds
· 1.6km (2 laps of sprint loop) - generally suitable for 7-9 year olds.
The Location:
Forest Lea Trails are located at the end of Forest
Lea Rd., West of Pembroke (between Pembroke and Petawawa). Exit south
off Hwy. 17 onto Forest Lea Rd, travel 5 km to end of pavement. Drive
time is 1.5 hr from Kanata or Mattawa.

There is a cabin (no changerooms). There is no
running water, so make sure to bring plenty of your own. There are two
outhouses on site.
Spectators are welcome!
Time:
Sign-in and bib pick-up will be open at 9am on race
day, and close at 9:30. There is one start per distance, with 5-10
minutes between starts. The first mass start will go at 10am. Schedule
will be posted on-site race-day.
Awards/Results:
Light snacks will be served post-race. Awards will be presented once all the racers are finished and will be based on male/female results for each distance. Folks who are present will have a chance to win a draw prize. Thanks to Gearheads in Petawawa who are always very generous in supporting our event.

PRE-REGISTRATION/PAYMENT online only (no race day registration) or in person at GEARHEADS ski/bike shop (www.gearheads.ca).
This is a volunteer run event and all proceeds support the Forest Lea
Trails and the PAXC ski club. Registration closes Saturday, Jan 26th at
NOON.
