Fall Parkway Closure Schedule and Special Events!

     This time of year is very important for racers and recreationalists alike because despite the lovely fall weather, WINTER IS COMING! which means we all want to get in ski-shape before the snow flies.

So, to help clarify when the parkway is closed to traffic and open for roller-skiing, here is a detailed summary:

 



Parkway Closures are:

 

Saturdays and Sundays:

P9 to P8 to Mica — 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

(“The Doldrums “ P9-P8 remain closed until 1:00 p.m.)

 

Tuesdays and Thursdays:

P8-P9 — 6:00 until dusk

 

The entire Gatineau parkway system will be closed to vehicular traffic for the winter at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28.

 

**also note to that parkway closures in Gatineau Park will continue at the usual times throughout Fall Rhapsody, which runs through Sun., Oct. 14

 



Other Events


XC Ottawa will again be participating in the Jim Howe Memorial Run, Oct 21, 2012. A very fun low-key race with a positive atmosphere, stay tuned for our results in an upcoming article or come out and run!

Rollerski world record attempt: Fresh Air Experience is holding another world record attempt on the Gatineau Park. If you have rollerskis, put’em on and come out to support this cool event!
