Gatineau, November 29, 2011 – The snow has made an appearance, and ski enthusiasts are already getting their equipment ready. It’s time to prepare for the biggest cross-country ski race in Canada: the 34th Gatineau Loppet. This year again, we expect more than 2,500 skiers from Canada and elsewhere on February 17, 18 and 19 to take part in the 51, 31, 16, 10 and 5 km races in Gatineau Park.
An event designed for one and all!
The world’s elite skiers will be coming to Gatineau to take on our local champions in the Gatineau hills. But the Loppet is also a chance for everyone to challenge themselves at their own level: experienced skiers on the 51 and 31 km, as well as beginner skiers and young competitors on the 16, 10 and 5 km. And of course the kids, who will get to do the Mini 2 km Sport Échange Outaouais with their parents. Now is as good a time as any to set yourself the challenge of participating in a race this coming February!
