Its been a tough week of competition for all skiers participating in this years Nationals in Canmore! There are now four races completed and nothing but the long distance, mass-start skate race on Saturday to go.
Here is just a few photos of the events and a little XC Ottawa team update.
In the interval, Classic Start CCUNC University Category, XC Ottawa's Matthias Purdon finished third, closely followed by Logan Potter in fourth.
On the University Womens side, Carleton's Adele Lay was third and Ingrid Hagberg finished ninth.
After some great classic sprint qualifying results the next day, Carleton managed to claim the overall Men's University Title!
Congratulations to all racers for some exciting racing this week. We are all looking forward to what may prove to be the hardest race yet on Saturday in the Mass Start Skate!
This is Lee Hawking of XC Ottawa, leading his quarter final heat out of the stadium in the classic sprint.
The exciting open men A-Final, in the classic sprint heats. Lenn Valijas finished first, followed by Brent McMurtry and Stefan Kuhn.
It was also a close finish for the Open Women, with Daria Gaiazova claiming the top spot, followed by Chandra Crawford and Jennie Bender.
