Fitspirit Snow Challenge
Last weekend I had the opportunity to volunteer in the Fitspirit snow challenge. It was a day to get high school girls out on skis and have a blast! Fast and Female was asked to come and lead the on snow component for the day. It was a great day and even though we had some tough snow conditions in the morning there were smiles and laughter all round!
Most of the girls had never been on skis before and the Fast and Female ambassadors spent the morning taking the girls through basic ski techniques. In the afternoon most of the girls opted to go out for a longer ski and some decided a game on skis was the way to go.
Fitspirit is an organization that gets girls moving and enjoying exercise; Fast and Female hopes to empower through sport. So the combination of these two organizations made for a great day. I hope that some of these girls enjoyed the day enough to come back and ski again!
I had a great day having a good time with the girls. It was also a lot of fun to see some other friends back home and great to ski the trails at Hardwood over the weekend.
