While XC Ottawa's university racers will take some well deserved rest, Sheila, Karl, Megan, Katie, and Vesta are off to compete in a NorAm "mini tour" in Orford. Three races in 3 days should keep us busy. Our coach and wax guru John can't make it, but we're lucky to have XC Ottawa's Anna Geiger Whitlock and alumni Justin Demers along to help us with waxing.
The mini tour format involves these races:
The "mini tour" format is new to all of us (and to the NorAm Circuit this year) - so we're looking forward to the experience. It should help for the Eastern Canadian Championships at Nakkertok (organized by Club Skinouk) in 2 weeks, which will also follow this 3-day mini tour format.
It will be a big weekend of racing in Orford, as organizers will also host their 16k and 32k loppet courses, held on beautiful courses that have been popular with many racers.

Sheila Racing in Orford Last Year
The mini tour format involves these races:
- a classic prologue (2.5km for women, 4km for men) Friday afternoon;
- an Interval Start Classic race Saturday (7.5 km for women, 10km for men); and
- a handicapped start distance skate race on Sunday (15 k for the women, 20k for the men) with start positions based on Friday and Saturday performances.
