Once again, join families, fast folks, and little ski fiends at the 2010 Boxing Day Burnoff at Nakkertok Nordic.Come on out to this fun-first race and put up your dukes against all challengers.
Race Format:
RUDOLPH’s Two person Sprint Relay (~1km per lap). Each person does 3 laps, tagging off to their partner after each one.
SANTA’s ELVES’ Shorter Two person Sprint Relay (~1km per lap). Each person does 2 laps, tagging off to their partner after each one.
100m Sprint Challenge After everything else is over….we will have a Race off for some draw prizes. See how fast you can cover the length of the stadium!
Please note: all of this is subject to change.
Teams: You can either show up with a team (2 people), or show up on your own, and we will put you on a team. Team themes and costumes will be REWARDED....so please show up with your best costumes!
Categories: Pick the race you want to compete in based on how many laps you want to do. Prizes will be awarded for various (yet undetermined) categories in each race.
Technique: *****SKATING*********
Who: Everyone and anyone is welcome to participate, whether you’ve raced before or watched your kids race. Some people may be going fast, but others will be staggering under the weight of prodigious turkey consumption the previous night.
When: 11:00 start for SANTA’s ELVES’ shorter race and 11:30 for RUDOLPH’s race on December 26th
Where: Nakkertok South
Registration: Register on the day-of, at the Barn. Registration opens at 9:00 and closes at 10:30. Cost: $5 per person or $10 per team CASH ONLY!
Prizes: To be determined….but there will be some good ones! Costumes are important, as are things like your total team age and gender and of course, when you cross that finish line.
