, Michel Dallaire retired from his position as Manager, Recreational Services, with the National Capital Commisson in Gatineau Park. For Michel, this brings to a close a 29 year career in Gatineau Park. A large part of Michel's role was the oversight of cross-country skiing of all types in the Park. In this capacity he worked with a very large number of people in Ottawa-Gatineau's cross country skiing community, including XC Ottawa and me personally, on a wide variety of projects. These included things like ski trail maintenance and grooming, racing and touring events and programs, and the Gatineau Parkway rollerskiing initiative.
Michel would very much like to thank all those people in our local ski community with whom he came into contact and worked with. He has had a very satisfying career, in large part because of the great many friends he developed during his time in the Park. He was always very keen to work with our dynamic and vibrant ski community and he is very pleased with all that was accomplished thanks to the energy and cooperative spirit displayed by its members.
XC Ottawa, and no doubt many others, would like congratulate Michel on a fantastic career and wish him the very best for his retirement.
