Yesterday was the sprint day at the National Championships in Whitehorse.
XC Ottawa had a good day with Alana leading the Open Women with a 13th place finish, just a hair away from qualifying for the semi finals. Megan had a mediocre qualifier but picked things up in the heats, where both her and Sheila got to race with Chandra Crawford. In the end Megan was 19th, Sheila was 29th and Anna was 33rd, just missing out on the heats.
In Open Men, Matthias missed the top 30 by 0.2 seconds and finished 31st. Karl, after being convinced to enter, came in 35th and "actually kind of enjoyed it".
Finally, in Junior Men Colin had a great qualifier, finishing 5th. He was racing really well in his quarter final heat but had a spectacular crash halfway through, ending his bid to win "State".
Kyle and Lee raced in the "development round" and finished in 36th and 39th respectively after spending 12 hours at the race site.
