Let's start close to home. Most of XCOttawa.ca raced here in town at the 3rd and 4th Ontario Cups of the year. The races were moved from Camp Fortune to the parkway, not because of a lack of effort on behalf of our coach and weekend chief of course Pavol Skvaridlo, who spent many hours trying to get the trails fit for racing. Unfortunately a lack of snow left them unsafe to race on. Regardless of the course we skied well. See for yourself - Ontario Cup #3 & #4 Results.
Lee Churchill was dominant, but just to be fair he offers up his Workout of the week!
A little further from home this weekend, another XCOttawa.ca member, Ian Murray was burning up the track as well. Ian head out to Canmore, Alberta to race the Continental Cup. After illness prevented him from racing last weekend at the Eastern Canadian Championships in Charlo, New Brunswick, he seems to have found his form finishing the pursuit in 15th spot. Keep it up Ian!
Finally for the team members that travelled all the way to Estonia to race. Haven't heard from them yet but it looks like all went well! Megan is matching Karl placing for placing in both the ski-duathlon (skate, change equipment, then classic - like a run-bike duathlon) and classic races. They were both 21st in the ski-duathlon and 24th in their classic races. Good job guys! Hope to hear from you soon.
