2008-2009 Dryland Training and Masters XC Ski Programs with Nakkertok

The Nakkertok Nordic Ski Club has great Masters programs for 2008-2009. You can sign up for dryland training only for the fall or join the Nakkertok club and join the Fitness Masters or Racing Masters. We have four coaches running the program, Natalya Kuziak, Christa Ramonat, Trish Massart and Mike Vieira, head coach of Nakkertok. Whether you plan to improve your fitness and touring skills, or train to race, we can provide you with a comprehensive package that will completely support you in achieving your cross-country skiing goals.  Find out more at www.nakkertok.ca

Fall Dryland Training Starting Wed., Sept. 10:

Fall dryland training is available to both Nakkertok members and non-members, from Sept 10 to approximately Dec 13 or first snow. You can sign up for the Fitness version, with two practices a week ($140 non-members) or the Racing version, with 3 practices a week, including one session of roller skiing ($210 non-members). Register for the season with Natalya Kuziak at practices. Payment is by cash or cheque. Or pay the drop in fee of $10 per practice. 

Dryland Schedule:

  • Wednesdays 6:30 pm: Dryland at Mooney's Bay (in front of Terry Fox Centre)
  • Saturdays 10:00 am: Dryland in the Gatineau Park (location to be announced on the Nakkertok Masters web site weekly)
  • Plus, Thursdays 6:00 pm: Roller skiing (for Racing Masters) at P8 in the Gatineau Park

Nakkertok Masters

Nakkertok Fitness Masters Sept.10-Mar.31 ($224 + Membership) For skiers who want to improve fitness and technique, but don't specifically want to race. In the fall you will receive two coached dryland practices per week (Wed. and Sat. as above).  In the winter you will receive one coached session on snow on lit trails at Nakkertok (Tues or Thurs 6:30 pm) and a group skiing practice on Sundays at 9:00 a.m.  You will also receive multiple video analysis sessions on snow.

Nakkertok Racing Masters Sept.10-Mar.31 ($340 + Membership) For more committed skiers who want to follow a training program that prepares them for ski racing or touring events. You can choose from a training program for 25 km loppets, 50 km loppets, the Canadian Ski Marathon or short races.  In the fall you will receive three coached practices per week (Wed., Sat. and Thursday as above).  In the winter you will receive two coached sessions on snow on lit trails at Nakkertok (Tues and Thurs 6:30 pm) and a group skiing practice on Sundays at 9:00 a.m.  You will also receive multiple video analysis sessions on snow.

Extra masters activities and events will also be available to you through Nakkertok Masters (e.g., extra strength training, time trials, Nakkertok Tuesday Race Series, fun races or tours, fitness testing, nutrition and mental training sessions offered by local experts).

Register for Nakkertok Masters at www.nakkertok.ca You can also drop-in!  Drop in for $10 to any fall dryland practice or drop in once to a winter session before deciding to join Nakkertok.
