This week I thought I should discuss the nature of coaching and share some personal experiences. There is a lot that coaches can do to help people ski faster and a lot that they cannot do. The role and influence of a coach should change somewhat over time and be responsive to the maturation of the skier.
International Cross Country Skiing has been plagued for a number of years by top competitors doping and the fallout. I thought I would give some thoughts on the topic in the hopes of having people think about it in a slightly different perspective.

Sport Canada and the National Ski Team provide funding for living expenses to the top skiers in the country. Last year, I did not ski fast enough to receive this funding though I still believe I am capable of skiing that fast.

Legendary for their skiing accomplishments initially and now for their cross-country skiing videos. That's right they film, produce, sell (and sometimes star in) movies about cross-country skiing!
The majority of XCOttawa.ca participated in the Fall Rhapsody Mountain Running Race at Camp Fortune in Gatineau Park. This was a 10km race on a challenging course.
