The 2005 Canadian National Championships kicked off on Sunday with the relay race events. The day was sunny and warm, as every day in beautiful Prince George has been thus far.
During the last few days I have finally started to feel good while training. It usually takes my body between 5 and 15 days to readjust to the training routine at the beginning of the year.

This week was dominated by a minor head cold I started to develop early in the week. Luckily, I reacted to it quickly and was able to prevent it from getting serious or preventing me from doing any real workouts.

A week and a half ago XCOTTAWA had a succesful outing at the GP des Couleurs Mountain Running Race in Mt. Tremblant. This Saturday (October 2) comes the other major mountain running race in the region; the Fall Rhapsody at Camp Fortune.
I realized this week that some of the ideas I have expressed about training appear to conflict each other so I thought I should discus these apparent conflicts.
Training has been going very well for the month of June. At the beginning of the month, I knew I was in fairly good shape but lacking a little bit to achieve my normal late summer fitness.
Twenty-six hardy skiers came out and competed in the first annual NADC charity Time Trial raising more than $260 for the Training Centre. Conditions were cold, with 5cm of fresh powder snow over a hard packed base.
This year I decided to spend the months of May-August with my parents in Sudbury because of work and a desire for some variety. As a result, my articles during this time reflect events and people in the City of Greater Sudbury and surrounding areas.
